Ok, This seems to be a popular subject so I thought I’d write a posting on it.
Everyone wants to know how to have tons of followers on Twitter, so here are a few steps to make sure you get followers without being suspended from Twitter for agressive following. ***NOTE: I’d very much rather you didn’t use this information for spamming people because that is just a deplorable practice.***
1) Remember your account can only grow by 10% of it’s own size per day otherwise you bring the scrutiny of Twitter’s staff upon yourself
2) Before I move on to the next few easy steps I should let you know that I don’t really like to follow people that don’t follow me back unless I am really, really interested in what they have to say. That said, the people I follow tend to be the people that will follow you back so my accounts are a pretty good place to start. You’ll have to remember that these two accounts are pretty new so they won’t have tons of followers yet but check back on them over the next few weeks and watch what they do. ***NOTE: If you follow me, I will follow you back with the exception of spammers and people pushing porn. If you are doing those… forget it.***
3) Find people with lots of followers and follow the followers on their list.
4) At least once a week, delete anyone who is not following you back. You can do this automatically rather than manually using the free mutuality tool at http://huitter.com/mutuality2/auth.php .
That’s pretty much it. You can get more followers than you think you can by using this method. It really only takes about 5-10 minutes a day and you can be up in the thousands within a week or so by doing this.
